What Self-Care Means to Us
What is self-care?
Self-care is essential to living a life that’s productive and fulfilling. Being aware of your mental, physical, and emotional health is the key to your happiness and will make a difference every day. Practicing good self-care improves your mood and reduces anxiety.
Self-care is a very popular topic, but the wording is vague. It can mean a million different things, and it does! We get lost trying to fully understand the definition. In fact, we should be trying to fully understand ourselves.
Embrace a mindset that makes your mental and physical health a priority!
What does self-care mean to REME?
Here at REME, we take self-care seriously. The mindset we adopted has shaped our decisions we make on a daily basis. It helps us control our stress and anxiety, as well as building and maintaining relationships amongst one another:
“To me, self-care is all about making conscious choices. Whether that’s choosing to eat well, workout, or stay calm in a high stress situation. Even when I’ve let myself down on a particular day, I reflect on that and keep in mind that tomorrow is a fresh start.”

We all know that self-care is the key to living a balanced life, but how do we attain that? Where do you start?
Good thing REME has some guidelines for you to follow below:
Keep it simple: Take a couple of days to figure out what makes you happy. Soon enough, you will find your own flow and routine.
Invest time: Self-care doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a commitment that you are making to live your best life! Start planning activities and ways to execute them; be sure to hold yourself accountable.
Self-awareness: This is the most important of them all. Know your strengths, weaknesses, and emotions. When you can master that, it allows you to understand those around you. Therefore, your professional and personal friendships will flourish.
Now that we have some guidelines in place, it’s important to know that self-care can vary from person to person. We all have different things that make us happy and sad. Digging deep is important, so get to know yourself very well. If adversity comes, you are prepared to stand up to it with a clear mind. Set yourself up for success!
Taking care of yourself makes it easier for you to be there for your loved ones when they need you most.
When life demands your best!
